And in doing so we harvest the last of the beautiful juicy red tomatoes….
Here in Florida, we are blessed with a tomato season that lasts longer than most, and I behold each and every one of those days.
I love to slice them, dice them, even eat them WHOLE!
But my favorite easy thing to do with them is make a light and tasty sauce..I grew up doing this with my Grandmother and each time I make it, I think of her.. It is quite easy with a few simple steps and you will NEVER eat sauce from a jar again if you make this!
All you need are 4 or 5 ripe tomatoes
Using a sharp knife, slice and X on the bottom of tomato…
Drop tomato in a pot of boiling water for 30 seconds and remove with a slotted spoon. Cool for a minute or so until you can hold and peel…
